Gilbert Optimist Club Financial Info

The Gilbert Optimist Club operates as a Not-For-Profit organization.

Fund Raising - The Gilbert Optimist Club raises money to use on community services projects. However, unlike some organizations, the Gilbert Optimist Club is very hands-on in its activities. Projects include things like fingerprinting children and providing Child ID kits to families at school and community events; or helping local youth hone public speaking skills for an oratorical scholarship contest.

Club Member Dues - Gilbert Optimist Club members pay dues to cover club operational expenses. New members pay a fee of $35 when they join the club and each member pays dues of $25 quarterly. Part of a member's dues go to Optimist International to cover the club's charter. Among other benefits, the charter with Optimist International (OI) includes a large insurance policy that helps protect the club, its members and youth participating in activities. OI also sponsors several international projects like the annual essay and oratorical scholarship contests, in which local clubs can participate.
